Fashion & Shoe Designers Fall For Flats, Part II

by Kaycee Hale

So many flats are flooding the footwear marketplace that I just could not resist doing Part II to the previous post.  I repeat…

It’s all over the fashion news with big, bold apparel industry headlines and interesting articles about the topic. Fashion designers are championing flats lately, says UK Daily Mail. Dolce and Gabbana and Armani sent models down the catwalk in flats, says another press release. And yet another flat out stated, “We’re all over high heels”.

Don’t throw them away or donate them to Goodwill just yet, but you might want to stick your stilettos in the back of the closet for awhile.

Here are some of the favorite styles making their way from the runway to the chic streets.

Slingback Flats. Footwear Design Name: Lucie. Retailer: J.Crew. Featuring the simplicity of a ballet flat with a colorful style, these shoes easily dress up or down. 5/8” heel in linen. $248.

D’Orsay Smoking Slippers. Footwear Design Company: Corso Como. Retailer: Nordstrom. The most classic smoking slipper for the season is a d’Orsay. Here’s the best of the best with shining studs outline in a sleek, regal flat. $54.96.

T-Strap Flats. Footwear Design Company: Kimchi. Retailer: Urban Outfitters. This caged t-strap flat in soft, rich leather is from Kimchi Blue. Finished with playful cutout detailing and an adjustable buckle closure at the side for a perfect, secure fit. $39.
